Anyone interested in acquiring some?

PM me for details. I'd type them here but it could easily turn into a Germanium Transistor shoot out.

Why so secretive? Please state clearly what your selling, why not with a picture.

Not selling any hence the wording acquiring.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/acquire

acquire means "come into one's possession" but does mention the way (contrary to earn, steal, ...)

Anyway, you've spotted a lot for sale and you would like to split it among members. The problem will be how to split it: unmeasured, measured, and a lot of good faith...

I was just suggesting to have the exact deal here out in the open: "I spotted so many so an so transistors at this price, anybody want to step in?"

That was going to be my initial idea but I didn't know how well that would be received. Every forum seems to be different but unlike others, this forum isn't full of shitheads so I figured there'd be some risk takers here who would get in contact with me. I would of posted full details but until I physically see and measure, it was pointless to post it. It also would have been very hard to sort out people to contact so I threw out an invitation.

Hopefully things work out decent. It'd be nice to move some around here. But hopefully is far from definite.

Good faith is good to have.

Hey, I'm grateful for one, that you were cool enough to make this accessible to others here, so thanks for that. I've only got a few OC81D's myself, less than 20, and I need way more than that..

Hey Phibes, anything ever happen with this? Is it still on the table/in the works? I might be interested in a few if price permits.

Bought and done. Found another forum member to buy the lot out with me. As with the way Germaniums are there weren't enough to go around. There not hard to source, just be prepared to blow a good wad and have a lot of left overs in the not so much desirable gains. Germaniums make for horrible group buys.

The worst thing about buying Germaniums is they've often been picked through already..

Are they pre tested?

It's sad but with the way things are, a lot of people will pay that much so that kind of is market value. There are worries about some fakes going around but really, there was only one builder who landed the fakes and I don't believe he gave the name of the mysterious "radio repair" salesmen who he bought them from ever. I think the sketchiness is around the builder there.

Untested and no physical photo that's too much. With a photo people will buy no matter if there tested or not so they can kind of pull a take it or leave it stance. If you can find a bulk lot the price should drop dramatically.
