How to split and mix signals?

How would I go about splitting and mixing signals. For example I would like to take two Ross compressor circuits, split the input into two signals on travels thru a low pass filter and one thru a high pass. the signals travel thru the circuits exit and then are mixed back together. My goal being multi band compression. lows and highs.

In fact really looking to design something modular so the splitting mixing could be added to any two circuits desired.


I have speculated jack ormans jfet splitter on the front end here:

Do these look like they will work in the way described?
Any other considerations to take into account?
should bypass the in/out buffers of the Ross circuit?

I would use the splitter in place of existing buffers, and use the mixer in place of existing output buffers. Just make sure the level pots you use on the output buffer are high enough in value (since they're in parallel) to avoid loading the individual compressor outputs (100k each should be sufficient).

One JFET splitter from:

can be enough to be used as a splitter.
Just connect mutiple wires to the point after C2 marked "out". Just make sure that the inputs of whatever you connect them too have a "high-input-impedance" like guitar effects and amps. Even a regular mixer line input (10k input impedance) should not be a problem I think.

just go to Jack Orman's website referenced above (http://www.muzique.com) and you will find both a vero & pcb layout for the JFET splitter.

I believe he has some kind of mixer on there if I remember correctly...
