Now... just a question: what value are R3, R6, R9 ? it says 150E, is it supposed to be 150R? or am I missing something? thanks!

Yes, E=R. That's the Euro-centric way of naming it. You want to use 150 ohm there.

Here is some audio proof that the TWMNBN is one of the best noise fuzzes on the planet!
members/soulsonic/Soundclips/TWMNBN/TWMNBN1.mp3
The first couple minutes are just some of the straight fuzz sound. All the variations in tone come from adjusting the volume/tone controls on the guitar only. After that, I turn on the Freakout switch and I proceed to demonstrate this pedal's use as a noise instrument. The touch terminals allow for a variety of expression.

The recording is a Gibson GA-5 amp mic'd with a Heil PR-40 going into a PreSonus BlueTube preamp and then into my M-Audio Delta 1010 card. The guitar is an Eastwood Hummingbird with a Tony Iommi pickup in the bridge position.

Wow!, right on Martin. That's a sound clip to be proud of!

I built this when you first posted it and it's been on the backburner since. My build didn't seem to be happening sonically so I ordered some of the correct diodes but never got back to it. I have the Bat41's now.

I recall on some other thread that you had changed the value of one of the pots, the freakout one perhaps? I can't find the thread but if you have any info to pass along about the pot value I would be interested.

@fuzzca; the Freakout control in the one you hear in the clip is 10k, but I think you might want to experiment with higher values, like maybe 100k or more... maybe the 10k might not give a wide enough range for your taste. But I'm thinking 1M might be too high because then it might not freakout enough. I think it's one of those things to play with by ear. Internal layout plays a role in the frequencies it oscillates at as well. I'm also beginning to get the impression that oddball variables like input cable length/capacitance and pickup type are also involved.

This thing has a strong communication with the ether!
