I don't happen to get around here on FSB very often, I just read your post.
That hiss is the the MN3101 oscillation noise. It injects in the signal path when you run your wires nearby it.
I abandoned this project as it was way too noisy for my tastes, so poorly sounding (at least not what I expected it to be) and noisy because of the osc. frequency.
I couldn't fix that hiss because I did a poorly dril-and-place job on the enclosure, so there was no room left.
