Here is a schematic for using Don Tilman's pre-amp in an A/B and Loop box. Yes it's simple, but my first contribution - don't be too harsh please. May have been done a dozen times before.

The 2 pole switch is for choosing to either enter the box from the A/B sides, as in with two guitars, or from the regular input side. It brings the pre-amp in front of the effects loop either way.

For simplification you could simply have the pre-amp on at all times and eliminate that switch.
I am putting the loop and A/B on footswitches, and the rest on toggle/slider.

For me this is meant to be the first stompbox in my chain. Everything else is true bypass and this pre-amp is meant to help the signal make it through all that with good treble and clarity. Or choose to go straight to the amp.

Trying to take in the world of electronics is kind of daunting... hope this helps someone.
