Pots 1,2,3.

Hi guys,
Here's a simple question but I'm asking because I don't know the answer

Looking at many (all?) of the layouts on this site I see the wires going to the pot tags labelled 1 2 3.
I'm assuming that 1 is the tag on the left if looking at the pot from above, or the furthest right if looking from underneath.
Am I right? (I think I can figure 2 nd 3 out from there

)

It will answer most questions that a beginner might have and give you a good grounding to move forward.
