Dub Siren project I've found here...

http://www.interruptor.ch/dub_diysiren.shtml

...and added a crude layout sketch and a bill of materials.

Does anyone have a bit more interesting project similar to this (a simple synth)?

It looks like something maybe similar to the Atari Punk Console.
I've been wanting to build some things like this, but I haven't had time to devote to my personal art. I plan to build something inspired by using my TWMNBN fuzz as an instrument (it makes an excellent instrument). The 4ms/Commonsound Noiseswash also makes an excellent instrument.
Another similar sound generator would be the commonsound TriWave PicoGenerator.... I've been planning to build one of those for several years now.

Yep, with the addition (as stated here - http://www.getlofi.com/?p=1106) of an envelope control. The most famous one is Jah Tubbys SynFex (http://www.jahtubbys.co.uk/effects2.html). I suppose that for a simple standalone version one could use some of the Velleman's siren kits (http://www.vellemanusa.com/us/enu/produ ... ?id=350497).

Thanks a lot for the suggestions! I'll look into the circuits mentioned.

hey guys I just wanted to let everyone know that these are SO worth building. I have an original from the late 70s this is the first version without the "white noise" knob. This thing has 3 different oscillators at certain settings. If you turn the LFO off the Dub siren part is bypassed and the tone generated stays steady. this coupled with the decay set to minimum and it sustains for days. You can tune these things to D major triad and then pick out the notes, flatten the 3rd etc. very very very cool. Also there are tons of bell tones and ring modulation in these. It is a little synth in a box and magic when you understand it.

It is a variation of the "coron drum synth" which is what it is best known for.

If you set it jusssst right you can get an 808 bass hit too.

heres mine

bonus heres the parametric eq I scored at the same back woods music store in arm pit tennessee from the same company that made the synth
they were both BRAND NEW AND NEVER BEEN OUT OF THE STORE. got em both for 60$.
