Hello, long time lurker, thought I would snap some pics of mine to share. The 2 transistors at the top are MPSA13, the other is 2N3906. IC isTL062N.
Sorry I couldn't get a better shot of the components under the pots. By the way, this place rocks!

Mark

Hey devastator, nice to meet you again.
I just happen to be the owner of a second hand octave fuzz. The effect by itself sounds quite bad (the fuzz is very nasty and, to me, a switch to turn on or off the octave would be necessary).
I used the case to house one of my projects actually.

I planned to post some pics of the JH-3s board, but I cannot take good macro pictures of it.
If you think the pictures posted by blindog are good enough I can provide you reading for components name and values instead.
Let me know if you're interested.

I was downloading the pictures of blindog and just noticed my board is a different one:
it says O.F. Rev-B on it.
Components seems somewat different and in mine there is a big IC just near the tl062, it is a HCF4016BE (others writing on it: gk6170yf vw gk chn); the switch is wah wah like (just two poles)....
I will try again to get some decent picture.

The 4016 is a similar IC to the 4066 (a CMOS switch) and has four logic controlled analogue switches. The "on" resistance of the 4016 is qa bit higher than that of the 4066.

I've used both (at different times) to make silent effect switches.

It sounds like a transformerless octave pedal, the problem is the terrible fuzz sound: nasty and with no sustain, no cream at all;
I would like to mod the circuit to have a better distortion/fuzz and to be able to switch in and out the octave (or the fuzz if I can't modify it).

Indeed, here it smells like that too....

Compare it with this schematic:

maybe the ICs are used to make a rectifer stage , I read an article of Jc maillet using that stuff. A diode in the feedbackloop and anoter one at output of op-amp.

Electronic and silent bypass, if the footswithc is a momentary one and some flipflop arrangement, more indications...

I really like this pedal. I've owned a Roger Mayer version a long time ago and build myself a Tyco version that I've been using after I sold the RM. This pedal is really close to what I thought of how the Mayer sounded.

When I got this pedal the sound was horrible and I expected some other fuzz like pedal then an almost pure copy of the Octavia. Turned out that C1 and C11 were blown up and IC1 was decently replaced by the former owner. Why he didn't replace C1 and C11 is unclear to me; the bits were literally blown off the print and left a huge mess :). When fixed, the unit behaves and sounds wonderful!

I see I forgot to add the potmeters functions; RP2 is named 'Tone' and RP1 is named 'Volume'
