WTF?!!!!

Sickle that's one I've never seen nor heard of...Did you score this in the US?
It'll be interesting to see what 2 xistors were implemented for possibly the most
Spartan pedal ever built. Those wooden undercarriages crack me up. Labor & lumber
were sure cheap back then. I mean how hard was it to bend some metal on the brake
instead of all the cutting and gluing?

Your collection must look sick!!

You dawg...

I wonder if it's related to the UMI Buzz Tone and Volume Expander. It is missing the tone control from the UMI if it is related.

One does what one can..

Yeah, I think its a state side auction win, I should have it this afternoon hopefully. I took one look at it and nailed it before someone else did, I've never seen another one and this one is in NOS condition.

Should be pretty cool, and a fair compensation for missing out on that UMI last night since that one's been mentioned, bah!

They've got the same style footswitch and mounted pots, now that you mention it:

Funny how these things pop up on ebay in tandem, eh? One Conrad and two UMI's, and I've never seen either before. Coincidence Theory at work or something more sinister?

Theres the diode that wasn't visible in the initial photos !

It probably has two .15uf caps, a few .0022uf caps, a 50k pot, a 100k pot, two 1M resistors, two 4k7 resistors, a germanium diode, 2 germanium transistors, and a 10uf electrolytic. The blue caps are probably the .15uf capacitors, and the brown ones are probably the .0022uf caps. Confirmation on capacitor values and pot values would be great if you could please.

Thank you for the pictures.

hey, that's not the Conrad its the UMI next to the Conrad! I was comparing the similarities, they look pretty damn close, huh? Conrad's not here yet, should be tomorrow.

Appetizing?
They look like rat turds, only from rats with a taste for refried beans and cardboard.

I likes me them bagel dogs though. 8)

No wonder. I was under the impression that those were all of the Conrad (except the top pic - I was wondering why that was there). I was trying to line up the resistors in the corner but it wasn't working. I though maybe they were hidden in a corner. Looking forward to pics.

Its here! Man, this thing is pretty damn cool!! Sounds to me like an FZ-1A/B. Its definitely got that mid-highs voicing of both, and the 'Buzz' works more like a blend than an actual fuzz amount control ala FZ-1B, when you dial it back you don't get a cleaned up signal, more like an almost doubled effect where your clean bass frequencies are strong and the higher freqs are fuzzed and still slightly audible. Turning the pot gradually kills off the bass and amplifies the mids/highs. Its got a really nice fuzz to it, 'buzz' is a good word to describe it. The fuzz is slower, kinda lazy, you guys know what I mean by that?

Pics are coming in a few minutes!

I can't find a value for the pots anywhere, sorry guys. I might break it down later tonight, maybe they're in a hidden spot and hopefully not under that mounting clip that's going down into the pcb..

I need to check through it thoroughly, but it looks to be the same as the UMI minus the Contour knob. It even has the 27k left in it that would have been part of the UMI's contour circuit (along with a .0068uf). Still, I'll try to verify it asap.

why don't you just measure them with a meter?

Tell me how and I'll be glad to. bear in mind I'm not much of a builder person. I have an interest in it, but its slow going for me at this point, so if you want a value for anything on this board, just walk me through how to take it and I'll do it.

Thats very easy in this case:

There sould not be a cable in the output jack and
the foot switch should be in the off-position.
Turn the Buzz and Volume control fully CCW.
Take a multimeter, switch it to 200k-range.
Measure across the outer lugs of the two controls.
The Buzz control should give a value of approx. 50k and
the Volume control read a value of approx. 100k.

Now turn both potentiometers in the middle position.
Measure the values between the middle lug and each outer lug.

That´s it.

BTW, what is written on the orange-brown capacitors ?
Must be something like 0.0022 or 2200pF.

Testing it now. One odd thing I noticed right away is the volume pot on this pedal is engaged whether the fuzz is on or off. Does that interfere with following your directions?
