I just finished tracing the Maxon AD-900. It is the version with two MN3005. It has an interesting clock/driver circuit which may serve well for some ideas.
I will post it in the Modern section after I finish drawing the schematic. I've also come up with a mod for the stock bypass to stop it from cutting the repeat tails.

@cpm; thanks very much for sharing your experiences with different experiments. I have learned some valuable things about the differences between the 3005 and 3205 from your posts!

this is sort of a "stable" version of what i had on the breadboard.
After trying some alternatives i always go back to the DMM references, i guess it sounded better to me.
The 8th order filter may seem overkill, but it really improves clarity removing artifacts at long delay times, at bit darker sound tough.

I have compared with a Stereo Memory Man, which is all i have at the moment. Take into account, SMM is 1x3005, and at full delay time it presents noticeable artifacts and a bit of clock bleed.
This 3x3205 delay, at the same time settings sound just a little darker than the SMM, but cleaner. Running a 6th order filter it gets a little brighter to the same sound of SMM, also some artifacts appear, but no clock.

I dont think i will build this at the moment, since this is only a "proof of concept" and will revisit for further development when i get the chance to buy more breadboards and some components

well, i am sorry to hijack this topic again...

Thank you again for sharing these great ideas, CPM!

I have the AD-900 traced now. I posted the schematic here:
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=7356
It has many similarities to the AD-99 that Dirk traced.

Is this the same board as the one you have for sale???

madbean wrote:Okay, here's the first volley: the Aquaboy. MN3005, MN3102 clock, set for 125B enclsoure. Or, if you use the components I listed below then you should be able to get in in a 1590B with no hassles. This is kind of my baseline, to which I will add all the goodies.

No, the AquaBoy board is double-sided. This is the single side version. There's actually a mistake in it that I never got around to correcting. It was corrected on the manufactured board. Two of the caps are connected incorrectly on this one.
