I did some poking around and found these on the forum at The Guitar Hub.

Might give us a general idea of what's going on.

They appear to be jumpers/shunts ... they sit across 2 pins ... like on the back of a hard-drive.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking. It's an interesting way to make a connection.

Quite a sweet way to disconnect or bypass a component ... and if it's gets RE'd, a good excuse to throw a heap more switches onto the box. :D

The Haunting Mids fuzz uses a number of jumpers like that to alter the tone.

look at the backside of the bottom plate, all of those jumpers have a purpose: "mids", etc...

that was easy.

yeah, easy. it was the first thing that came to mind. but what are the components? you know where i can buy those? they don't look like normal sockets. are they used in some other app?

and the gut shot doesn't show any jumpers. i find that odd considering what seem to be the stock settings inside the the backplate.(that was easy, too.)

Yes it does. Those white things are jumpers. See some black ones here;
http://www.technobots.co.uk/acatalog/PCB_Headers.html

They do look a little unusual though - you can't see any trace of the header pins they are fitted to. Presumably the pins are either fitted from the other side, or don't have any plastic support strip.

thank you! that looks like it could be it.

what a trip. looking at these switches, it seems that Cherry is the main manufacturer. my step dad used to work for them when i was in high school. wish i would've got into this sooner!

No kidding. Every time I see somebody raving about a $400 pedal, I'm think about how I could've bought and moded a sweet little tube amp for that cash.

It's more a currency issue between countries IMO.

Everything out of Europe seems to be pricey.. and the US dollar is at a low so stuff out of the US is currently pretty cheap to the rest of the world.
The Aussie dollar was buying about 55 cents US a short time ago.. it's now about 93 cents.
That means a pedal that cost say $250 in the states would have cost us $455.. it would now cost us $269.. makes a massice difference.

My wife and I just got back from France a couple of weeks ago. We were paying around $80 Australian for breakfast which was just a couple of coffees and a few Croissants.
It's expensive in relation to most of the rest of the world, but right for them in consideration of wages, taxes, etc I guess.

Geting back to topic.. I've mentioned the Fetto several times before in other threads..
It's a great sounding pedal and has become very popular with local Pros where I live.. half a chance it's got some originality to it too.
The original was a little hard and modern sounding for my taste, but the new models seem to be better in that regard.
