This is brewing up at the other place, thought some of you guys might be interested. I plan to make a double-sided layout for the Gristleizer. The details are a bit up in the air. So far it seems people do not want board-mounted pots or rotary, in order to keep the size of the PCB down a bit. Personally, I prefer them, because I hate offboard wiring, but I'm not even sure I'm going to build one, so I'd rather make it the way everyone else wants it. The board will have silkscreen and soldermask.
One major design point for me was to use fewer ICs. The original used 741s, because I guess that was how it was back in 1977. I'm not sure the fidelity matters so much as the fact that they are single opamps and we can do better now. Likely the LFO and waveshaper will be in a quad, and the audio portion will be in a dual. So, 5 ICs down to 2 is decent. There will be an onboard spot for a charge pump to derive the -9v. You can leave this out if you're putting this in a modular.
Roy Gwinn, the original designer, might possibly be updating the circuit and letting us have a peek.
I will be doing the layout soon and will then post some prices for different quantities. I'm fairly certain we have the numbers to go through with it, but don't count on this being certain just yet, until I know about how many people are in.
So chime in if this is something you're interested in.

sounds like fun. i'd be down as long as the price isn't super high.

i would like a board or 2. personally board mounted pots seem like a great idea, less wiring= better imo.
