Wasn't sure where to put this, as I'm sure nobody really even cares, but here it is anyway. A friend of mine got one of these to check out (he has a tube amp with no master volume), so I asked him to send me some pictures of the guts. He was kinda shocked when he opened it up. I told him exactly what would be in it, but he was skeptical because it "makes his amp sound so good". Hey, whatever works for ya.

Hey, I guess it does the job for an amp with an effects loop but no master volume. Are there really that many of those out there?

I wonder why stereo system speaker wire was chosen? 'Cause it's cheap?

MY understand is, it's "Deluxe'' as in Hot Rod Deluxe. I don't think these are that expensive, by the way. They are made because the hot rod deluxe series uses a linear volume pot, if I'm not mistaken...the clean volume comes on hot, pretty quickly. This is a way to turn it down, by getting it loud at '2' on the amp volume, and then plugging in this audio pot into the effects loop, to turn it down and have some control for non-stage volumes.

Silly, and not sure about that speaker thing, but it makes sense in some way, for those who don't know that the pot can simply be replaced, or want a more affordable plug and play, no-mod needed alternative.

The "Delux" simply means that it comes in a metal case as opposed to the "standard" which comes in a plastic case.

But yeah, my friend uses it with a Fender Blues Deluxe. Total cost from the ebay store is somewhere between $40-50 USD I think. Can't post a link right now, as ebay is blocked up here at work.

The name reminded me of a goofy piece of junk I found at a Goodwill- an 801 Omnisonic Imager. A real tour-de-force in the annals of goopdom.
