You think the buffer is worth putting in its own pedal or more for use inside an already developed fx unit?

I'm almost thinking could it be used as an onboard guitar preamp, just no active tone controls. Like a strato-blaster.

IM getting more interested in buffers recently.

I have this bartolini unit that doesnt increase gain at all, but does increase high end output. Im just too scared to degoop it to find out whats inside. So im on a search to find buffers that sort of have the same effect.
