By the way - it's just the same old Muff circuit...

Assuming the name applies to the circuit inside.
the "Foxey Lady" sounds very different than all
the different muff circuits. More gain less mush.

There's lots of "mojo" components in there... you have to question how effective (or important) they are seeing that the 2 models shown have:
-Different styles of capacitors everywhere.
-Carbon Comp resistor usage is very different between the 2 versions.

...perhaps this demonstrates that the "mojo" components are just so much BS!

I found a box of old carbon composition resistors and another of very old polystyrene capacitors. I'm going to buy a couple of hundred really leaky, cheap and nasty Russian germanium transistors, some cheap aluminium boxes (and get a five year old to "finger paint" them), and throw together some "ultra fuzz-face" mojo-blasters. I'll advertise them under a silly name on Ebay with a starting price for the auction of $500 each...

Should pay for a couple of exotic holidays for my wife and I this year....

...you know, these are just effects pedals, not missles or anything...
maybe a rock garden or stamp collecting is a better idea, help tone down some of that aggression

I don't see anyone taking it too seriously or being aggressive..

This is a site that discusses and analyses effects... you'll get some differing opinions, and occasionally there's a bit of humour and even cynicism... it's all part of what makes FSB tick.

Man, I love the Russian Ge's! All of mine have been have great with very few leaky ones. Have you had a different experience? (Sorry to hijack)!

yeah MT, watch out with that russkie Ge bashing! if you actually measured them, you'd find that many models have little to no leakage at all. and while they are cheap, i wouldn't go so far as calling them nasty... unless of course that's a compliment!

All those carbon comps must just be to add noise to the circuit...

The current version is in a smaller enclosure, and a much nicer build and wiring. There is still a fish tone cap, and at least one ceramic, but the rest of the parts are modern now. I wonder what the extra diode is there for?

Polarity protection for the power supply most likely.
If you plugged in a reverse polarity supply the diode
will protect the circuit.

That would be one positive over some of the other Big Muff clones then. Looking at a few other guts shots of the older versions, seems the component types varied all over the place. MJM is just following the tradition set by Electro-Harmonix I assume
