Here is the patent for the ISP Decimator:
ISP Decimator (patent)

Here:
http://musiciansboutique.com/ebay/isptech/gwart800a.jpg
you can read that ISP was founded by former Rocktron employee Bruck (James K.) Waller.

If somebody has more infos please post here. Guts, schematics etc. would be intersting.

hey ag,

great to see back here! Hope you're fine ...

I just wanted to say: I'm highly interested in this circuit! Always thought it would be DSP ...

Cheers ~Timm

First go to ISP website isptechnologies and get the file DECIMATORTECHNOLOGYPRIMER.pdf

Then go to thatcorp website and read the application notes on compressors, expanders and gates.

Follow with reading on National Semiconductor DNRS (Dynamic Noise Reduction System) chips from 1970/80s

Afterwards it's a medium difficulty task to design your own.

I'm pretty sure the isp is smd, i'll try and remember to open it after rehearsal tonight. Certainly the best gate I've ever used.

Have you seen the Drawmer DF320 circuit? It's a monster which used 2 x SSM 2120 and a DBX 2150, but a superb single ended noise filter/downward expander. let me know if you want me to post it.

Ok the Decimator isnt smd, thought I remembered it was for some reason.

It contains:

6 x LF33N
1 x MC14013BCP (IC FLIP FLOP DUAL CMOS 14DIP)
1 x 21811c

and a couple transistors I cant read at the moment.

I will do gut shots IF I can safely get it apart but this is one of those pedals that is actually so good for the price, that it deserves to be bought. I would also think it is a hard build.

I might have missed something, but is the ISP decimator the same as schem that Stephen posted? If it is, I'd be willing to do a PCB layout for it.

Stephen posted a Drawmer downward expander thing that works on a similar principal.
