While I read multiple discussions on the thing being a great reissue but a tonesucker as well. The WH10_v2 gets my prize for being the pedal that landed on my bench soonest after release. Ouch.

So is it, as is claimed, a part for part reissue of the original?
Almost. For the wah circuit it is. But they added some filtering to the input and output..

on a first glance... all one has to do is lift the two 2n2 caps at the input and output buffers?

jepz. 3 that is. One on the dry out as well.
And, if you wanna do it really corksniffin correct, replace the 220 ohms with one 470 ohm.

i love the sound of the WH10 but thought it thoroughly brainless to spend that kind of money on a plastic pedal. i'll be snapping this one up in the next couple of months and modding it... it was going to be either this or the weeping demon, but i think this sounds a lot better; i like the WD-7 for its tonal flexibility though.

To be honest:
I don´t care about that slight differences, because the V2 sounds awesome out of the box!!

Like it more that my vintage JEN CryBaby and the newest Hendrix wah. Either clean or with fuzz the Ibanez sounds never muddy or sharp. Build quality is very good and the price made me really

Nope!

But it can work as a boost when it´s on.

It's got an input, it's got an output so it can be TB-ed.

So I did, last weeken, twice. Never ever modded a pedal so soon after it's release

Does the basic wah tone sound different between the V1 and V2?
V2 has the boost along with the wah correct? (simultaneous)

Hi John!

To me my V2 sounds exactly like the youtube videos of the V1.
The control knob adjusts the wah intensity from zero to 12 o´clock, and from that to full clockwise it boosts the output.

I have mine for a week now, and have never played so much wah than in these times...

Fellas, I have to revoke my last post in this thread!!

I bought a original WH10 on ebay a few days ago, and compared to the V2 it sounds much brighter. The character and the amount of boost is exactly the same to my ears.

So following Dirks schematics of both versions I removed all the additional filtering for the input and outputs, and voilá:
it sounds 95% like the V1 now!

When you A/B the two it´s still obvious that the V1 has a tick more treble. Anyway: I´m more than satisfied with the V2 now, but will keep the V1 for some "special moments".

When stating that 95% are you referring to the bypassed state or the on state?

When it's regarding the on state keep in mint that a little difference in minimal or maximal pot position can already make a sonic difference. There's no reason to assume that the V1's and V2's are all set up exactly to a similar and tight spec.

I´m talking about the on state.
To my ears the bypass doesn´t suck any tone, bot I´ll mod my V2 to true bypass later.

I had both of these pedals side by side about a year ago and the V2 was much darker sounding than the V1. It wasn't a pot tweaking problem, V2 sounded pretty bad compared to V1. I also had a friend who purchased a V2 and he returned it the next day because it was so dark (and he wasn't comparing it to V1).
