Honestly, thats a very fair price, IMO...$129 for a well built reissue script P90..."Boutique" guys would ask a lot more for the same thing (possibly "less well built" than the MXR)

And 6 single opamps??

Everything is as close to 1974 as RoHs will allow... If you find any discrepancies… blame RoHs. The component values are based on an original ’74 unit… Purchased new in 1974 by one of the Dunlop Engineers.

That's great to hear but leaves me with two questions...

1) Why didn't Dunlop just do this with their first script Phase 90 reissue?
2) Did they fix the volume drop or copy that too?

So now we have the reissue script Phase 90, the reissue script Phase 90 with LED, the '74 Phase 90 and the EVH Phase 90 with script button.

1) I couldn't tell ya... I didn't work there when they made the first reissues.
2) I'm not sure what you mean? The '74 has no modifications to the circuit. So if there was a volume drop in it then... there still is.

The other two Script reissues will most likely be... "Phased" out...lol!

Perhaps you are thinking of a small stone? I've never had a Phase 90 with a volume drop. I've had an original '74 bud box scripty, an original block logo, various reissues, and a homebuilt byoc and they have all boosted ever so slightly.

It looks like Dunlop might have got the idea finally

I attached a PDF layout that includes a wiring diagram, parts list and a scale PCB layout.

Having owned both (just sold the re-issue), I can tell you that they sound identical. I got the re-issue when my original 74 bud box 90 suffered a meltdown when the original foam disintegrated. Ordered the Dunlop 74, the $129 cost meant I paid $4 more than I paid for the original. After repairing the original, replaced a couple of burnt traces and the blocking diode, I then did an A-B with them, and there was no difference between the two. I think I am keeping the original more for the memories, rather than the sound, as I don't use either it or my Ibanez FL303 flanger on my current board. Been thinking of building one of Rick's casualty phasers so I have one in the chain, I kinda like the idea that my current board has only pedals that I've built, makes things easier to troubleshoot and I know I have all the components on hand for any repairs or mods.

This is not your layout, look closer and you will notice (although it is similar) it is a lot different. I used a bunch off of the net as reference to draw this one, including an original '74 unit and I allowed for bigger components to be used.

Besides, this layout belongs to the original designers of the MXR Phase 90, no one here has the right to claim it as belonging to them.

With what exactly you helped? Looks like stock vintage p90 layout on new pro production laminate

I'm confused. what (if any) advantage is there to using 6X single opamps when room could be saved by using 3X dual?

layout purpose ? ( they possibly had surplus parts on that single opamps, not sure where they used it though)

thanks... so I guess my real question is, if I was to do a layout with 3X dual (or a single quad and a dual) there's no disadvantage from a sound perspective?
