Thanks for the guts....

That´s really funny:
For years someone is selling a DISTORTION pedal with a baxandall tone-control as a tubescreamer-derivate and nobody with "golden ears" becomes aware of it.

There´s a sucker born every minute - and too many of them end up in the bootweak pedal biz.

perheps because he's just making and sellong decent prized pedals, instead of overcharging on his builds and presenting himself as the next gods gift to guitarists on every musicians forum on the globe.

I still regret he spends so little time on his vintage effects website stuff.
Sorry. Plain out of planes.

That's an interesting way of mounting the wima box caps on the smaller board, never seen that before

Here is Jacques site http://www.jacquespedals.com/

and now, compare the line of effects to this http://www.exar.com.pl/index.php?file=produkty_exar03

Exar is the company famous in Poland of making plastic low quality piece of shit

Looks familiar?

I read somewhere before that Exar is building the Jacques stuff (now).

What I meant the Tubeblower is presented as an Overdrive (together with tubescreamers):
http://www.jacquespedals.com/index.php? ... 0c3e70c7b5

In fact it is an ampifier-stage (similar to the first stage in a Big-Muff-Pi) followed by an opamp amplifier-stage (with variable gain) followed by a diode-clipper and a baxandall tone-control.

So it has really nothing in common with an Overdrive or an Tubescreamer.

But it is the best selling pedal of Jaques line. People will buy everything as long as they believe that they get what is promised them.

The fact that it's not actually a Tube Screamer makes me more interested in it now than I was before!

Nothing new. Could have told you that 6 years ago. Jaques never made a secret of that.
And the prisoner delay didn't really appear that shitty to me.

What I do wonder about is why that piece op DIL14 logic that controls the bypass FETs is sanded?

Really ? You could write an article:
"How to mod a Boss HM-2 (DS-1) or Ibanez PL5 (TM5) to Tube Blower specs..."

 Yes, but that's more interesting than looking at another Tube Screamer.

It is most probably 4007. I found them in Exar boxes while repairing. IIRC the bypass part was similar to the Pearl pedals.
Why? To keep the 'unique' circuit secret ;)
