I did a search and did not find this one. To me it sound very TS-like.
With added gain.

Anybody got more info about the circuit or gut shots? I would guess the blue and red gain stages are opamp/diode devices, but have yet to hear anyone talk about the circuit despite how popular they have become on the gear page.

The red and blue sound like diode clippers.

The new Black has this description:

The Gain Stage Black started out in the design phase as a clean boost with character. I didn't want "transparency" , which to my ears, more often meant "sterile sounding. When the prototypes started sounding good, I experimented with how much gain to give the pedal. After getting it to where I thought it was a right, I had some folks play it with their rigs. When I asked them what I could do to make it better, they all said to give it some more gain. That is when it opened up and really became the Black! I began thinking it sounded very familiar to me at higher gain settings. That was when I fired up my vintage 100W and 50W Marshalls. Those very sounds were coming out of the Black when feeding a clean amp! I wanted to make sure I wasn't hearing things, so I built a handful of prototypes and sent them out to my beta-testers without telling them what I was hearing. To a man, all reported back that it was the most faithful reproduction of a classic cranked Marshall that they had heard.

There are several unique features incorporated into the Black's design. First and foremost, there are no clipping diodes utilized. This allows the pedal to be incredibly dynamic and amazingly responsive to the guitar's volume control. For a true old-school experience, leave the Black on and do it all from the guitar!

Another difference you will experience with the Black is how the Tone control works. Careful experiments led to the control affecting the narrow range of frequencies critical to the electric guitar. The entire control range produces a classic range of tones.

Finally, a speaker cabinet compensation circuit was designed, with the switch designations, "Closed" and "Open." In the Closed position, the black is leaner and works well with closed back cabinets, especially 4X12s. In the Open position, when using open-back combo amps, the "twack" of a closed-back cab is approximated. This was the intention but both positions can be used with any speaker cabinet type and you are encouraged to experiment!

Sounds like a ROG style jfet amp sim.

There is also a Jetter Gold in the works but as yet no info on that one.

I heard the first one (blue?) It sounded kind of like the new heard of tubescreamers with a very low forward voltage clipping in the opamp loop. Maybe just one LED in one direction - too loose for my tastes.

Don't care so much about clips, would rather see some inside shots of this pedal. Nobody bought this pedal?

wow - is it possible to have two orogeny profile names? I have been a reader for some time, but have certainly NEVER posted. Anyone help with this?

This was the original Jetter, supposed to be Eric Johnson in a box. Recently acquired one, and as Jetter seems to not be interested in producing this anymore I degooped it.

My opinion:
First, I don't care too much that Jetter Red copied the Zen, would rather he would have disclosed that fact, but most pedals are just modified copies of another pedal. His ad copy is no doubt BS, but All ad copy = BS , thats the nature of the beast!!

Anyway, on to what I found under the goop:

7 resistors
2 electrolytic caps
3 yellow box caps (sanded)
1 power diode
1 8pin opamp (sanded)
3 small glass diodes? grouped together
1small glass diode | close to LED below
1 small red LED |
1 double sided board (seems well soldered (it survived my first ham-handed degoop, in good shape), but similar design "limitations" of Jetter Red board, described in another thread)

not under goop:
1 resistor (strapped across 2 spots on the DC jack)
2 spst switches
1 3pdt footswitch
1 DC jack
1 battery snap
1 enclosure
2 jacks (1 shorting)
indicator LED
Tone pot Alpha A25K
Gain pot Alpha 5F4
Vol pot Alpha 5J2

If I had Eric Johnson's fingers, I think I could get great sounds from this

... I just get touch sensitve OD/light Fuzz.. still working on those violin tones, but I kinda like it. If anyone is still interested in this, I'm not sure I can trace this type board, and my camera is 1500 miles from here now, but ????? Is it a clone of something else? Ring any bells with anyone?

I was amazed at the low parts count... think about it.

Did you ever manage to trace the Gain Stage Blue? I have a GSB myself, but am terrified of degooping it, which would be my first time doing so...

Have you managed to get any great sounds out of yours yet?
