Information
Look carefully, and you'll spot four transistors and two pairs of back-to-back diodes, three pots.... Could it be another Big Muff Pi variant?jrod wrote: Anyone know anything about the Aria Super Fuzz Sustainer RE-203?

Damn, I'll bet you are right! I only see 3 transistors, but there are two sets of clipping diodes, which I missed. Maybe more like a Colorsound Supa Tone Bender type of Big Muff variant.

I have one of these (and several other pedals from this series. I can have a look when I see it

Hi,
I recently got the ARIA AWF-2
that is a fuzz wha pedal.
the fuzz unit look the same you can see
on jrod pics.
It's triangle muff circuit with some modifications :
Transistors i have seen in a couple of circuit are
Tx c732 in one and CI 327 in the other. ECB type
all caps ceramic
10k ground to gain pot
6,8nF 100k filter before tone stack !
no recovery gain stage !!
all pots 100KL
Don't know for diodes look like silicon
Here the shem :

hey Mich-
thanks for the schematic, but do you think you could post a bigger version? it's a bit small.

"How does it sound?"
Pretty cool it's allow a good crunch
you can't have with traditionnal muff's
a good grit there to a solid sustain to soling
at max sustain.
But it suffer of the lack of the recovery
gain stage.
You could use the original pad to add
the last stage (traces and drills are there but
has never been bredboarded ! don't know why)

You're probably right - there might only be three transistors - they might omit the final stage if they're using a simple tone control without too much loss.jrod wrote:Damn, I'll bet you are right! Just seen the drawing further down the thread. Just like a Muff.
Incidentally, my old Muff board layout went 'round the outside of a square PCB just like this one! It kept the input well away from the output, which was good for stability.

Hey Mitch P! Thanks for the schematic.
And thanks for the additional info!
Somewhere on the site at the top of the thread is a video where he compares the Aria to a Triangle Muff. They sound similar, but the Aria sounds more "gritty" to me. Could be how the tone knob is set though. I can't tell.
There are also a lot more gut shots on that site.

When you said "L" I was thinking it's log, as in most of BMP'sMich P wrote:Hi Sinner well done just notice all pots are linear in the original.

I'll do the correction soon
Thanks again
