The clips so far sound very much like "cascaded fet amp sim" to me. Perhaps something like his OD100 adapted to the format? Some of the sounds actually seemed a bit LM386-ish even.

Basically, i mean to say that it doesn't necessarily sound like anything new, but i would still be curious to have that either proven or disproved. :idk:

Haha, of course it is.

But listening to the clips, i was just continually thinking to myself: "hmm, that reminds me of the Purple Plexi, that reminds me of the Krank DM, that reminds me of the SLO Century/DR Boogie..." etc etc etc...

Another notable tidbit, is that no one who is demoing this thing is doing it through a POS Crate SS 15w. So far, the clips i have heard have been through the clean channel of an actual OD100, and IIRC, a Bogner. Almost any pedal you run into the clean channel of a proper nice amp like that, is going to sound good. It is kind of funny to me to hear people gushing over that. A frickin' stock DS1(perhaps my least favorite pedal of all time) is going to sound good through an OD1 clean channel!

Like i said, i would still love to see what is inside, as always.

But i won't be surprised, at all, if it turns out to be a FET boosting a 386 with a tweaked Big Muff tonestack!

IvIark managed to snag this one from somewhere. This will have to hold you over until we can get our hands on one. :)

I played one of these things today through a Suhr head of some kind and a 1x12 and it was actually pretty damn nice. Good mids and highs coming through, can get quite high gain. I found the mini toggle switch to not do a great deal (maybe some kind of clipping diode arrangement/diode lift) and it has the same kind of relay situation on the stomp as some of the Lovepedal stuff. I really thought I was about to plug into a Rat clone as I seem to recall hearing or reading thats what it is, but whoever Suhr is, he/she/they/it have done a nice job on this circuit.

Just listened to the clips - big yawn for me - no top end - heaps of mids - sounds like most of the other million silicon op amp fuzz overdrives - great pedal for getting that squeezed over processed guitar speed tone that most american bands seem to go for these days
Not for me sorry

Here's my half-assed guess based on what I heard from a couple of youTube videos: a 386 cascaded into another op-amp gain stage then an active TS tone control with either a 2k or 5k pot as the value.

I'll wait to be proved wrong :)

Madbean,

I'd love to see you proven wrong as well, because that means that we'd have some degooped gutshots to work with!

Yes, I'm one of those who not only loves the tones from Baja's Tube Drive, but likes the sounds out of this pedal too.

Then again, I'm kind of a gear slut.

Perhaps because I see no microcontroler and two pole momentary switch?

No carbon comp resistors or Teflon caps.
