Just in the middle of building one of these and noticed some small errors in the part's layout. The 2.2uf cap under the IC should be 4.7uf and the 22uf next to it should be 2.2uf according to the schematic.

Ok It's all finished now. I have a problem with the gain pot, from 0 to 9 it's just clean tone. All the distortion is bunched up in between 9 and 10. I'll just keep going over it untill i find the trouble. As alway's i was very careful selecting the part's. Measured every resistor before installing them. Being color blind is a pain in the arse sometime's.

That looks great! The irony is, if I do end up building it any time soon, I'll probably end up using a Russian Ge Q2, just because that may be all I have handy in the right hfe range. Would a 2N2369 work there? Also, the mind gets working---it might be fun to rig up something hotcake-ish on that output buffer opamp.

No need to say sorry, it's just a small slip up. Really great little fuzz box this, it kind of sounds like it let's through some of the natural sting sound even with the gain cranked way up. Kind of transparent in the upper registers of the fret board. Haven't had a chance to crank the "Champ" up yet to see what this fuzz sound's like through all that tubey goodness. I had trouble with the output jack, the one's I have just don't fit properly. I'll have to track down some that will. Anyway thank's again baja

Have you looked at this?
https://www.diystompboxes.com/pedals/3tran.JPG
thats been up for years
One could bootstrap the input EF I left some pickup loading in on purpose. One could also add a EF output. Note the thin thick switch

Big cheese has opamp buffers and a nice tunable BMP tone control. Do want that much gain 100K, 4.7K 1st FF stage gain setting resistor. I am not a fan of 100K feedback more often 47K work out the math The interaction with the guitar having less closed loop gain at the first FF stage allows finer control of what people call "touch".

D+ opamp buffers posted some time ago

Hand drawn and you might need to save it and view it with other software. Note the added HP control

I deal in words. Scrolling around a giant hand-drawn schematic during work would not make the right impression.

Looking at the schematic, pin 8 gets power directly from the power source but on the pcb layout pin 8 is connected to the other side of the 100R resistor.

The schematic is wrong. Pin 8 has to be connected after the 100R (where the 100R and the 220µF meet...).
The 100R and the 220µF electrolytic are for power supply filtering.
