Never been a great fan of compressors - but that is just me :?
The LA2A is supposed to be THE compressor - some have built solid state versions of it too :wink:

I found this one on the excellent LXH2 website :D

The problem with the "LA-2A op-amp remake" is that the LA-2A used an electrostatic foil for the enlighten the LDR(s) and not a led. This will have an influence on the characteristic of the compressor(limiter). Another detail is that it is a forward-compressor, and doesn´t have a feedback loop to control the gain reduction.
